This couple and I have been trying to get this session done for a while now, but we finally were able to connect and get it in. We planned on starting at the campus of UAH where Nichole is studying nursing. They really wanted to implement their education into this shoot. We were able to get some time in at the library and the pond there. I'm just glad that the staff was so kind in allowing us to come in and get some shots. Christmas day is always a beautiful time for me. I think we take it for granted that everyone feels this way. As I look back at just a few days before Christmas the news reported a 7 year old girl was killed, so I think this can't be a good time for them. Then my wife received a word that she had lost a co worker to the complication of cancer, so I think this can't be a good time for them. See it is not only death at holiday time that makes it hard, but also the lack of having. The hustle of getting gifts for the children and love ones can become a little overwhelming if you have a lack of. So, once gathering all of this in there's always been one thing my mom would say in times of trouble "It could be worse". I think this state of mind puts you in a grateful attitude. As we had our Christmas dinner yesterday I was reminded of those exact words. See the picture here is of my mom's sister and my aunt Corrine (Cokie). She was diagnose with cancer the early part of the year. After finding a 10 pound growth and to find out it was cancerous was a bit much for me and my family to take in. Shocked, disappointed, worried was just a few of our emotions. When me and my mom went up to the hospital to visit her after the surgery. My mom was breaking down and we talked about having faith and being strong in front of her. Once in the room there were others there, but the thing I notice most was my aunts uplifting spirit that filled the room. You didn't have a chance to come in and be sad because to see her smiling and encouraged was truly a blessing. After that visit I felt a sense of relief. My aunt a mother of the church she attends was believing in Gods words. This is what brought this attitude of rejoicing in her spirit. As Christians we are tested, but how many of us trust in Gods promise to us. I think that's why he says if you have the faith only the size of a mustard seed. That's not a whole lot, but God doesn't require a whole lot of faith to bless you. Just the size of a mustard seed will do. Cokie told me one day as I called to check on her that God was already answering prayers. See it could've been worse if the growth that they removed had spread through out the rest of her body. That wasn't the case though it hadn't spread. She's still taking chemo but because she believe I believe that much more. My aunt is going to the salon to get her hair done. She's doing things for her, so after I saw the image of her from yesterday I was inspired to share not only the image but a little of her story.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therfore will I deliver him:

I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me. and I will answer him: I will be with

him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him,

and shew him my salvation

Shateka + Jamie = Married

Did I mention I love to do weddings? This couple is just one of the reasons that I continue to love being a wedding photographer. I may have got this one by default, being me and Jamie are kinfolk lol. Nevertheless this was a chance to get the inside track on the rest of the relatives. I think I just moved up on the list of Jamie's favorite cousins lol. Everything went quite well through out this entire process. The bridal was awesome with Shateka and I really enjoyed the engagement session as well. These guys are just made for each other. You would think that they've been married for years and as I was picking out their song for the slideshow. I came across this song called My Heart and at first I didn't think it fit, but then I came back to it and came back to it. Anthony was explaining how he had found his appreciation for his love. It was her heart that keep calling him, her care for him. That explains the spirit of Shateka and Jamie. I think they've listen to each others hearts and found that inseparable love. There's nothing like love when it's right. Continue to nurture your love and don't forget the most important thing, God. Thank you guys once again because you didn't have to, but you found in your heart to trust me and I always take that seriously. Congrats.........Now here is a glimpse into their special day.

Shateka Crutcher Montague (Bridal Session)

This bridal session was my first in a while, so I was excited to finally get a bride that wasn't concern about cleaning their dress afterwards lol. Believe me I do know there not cheap to clean, but thanks to Shateka who was excited about her session gave me the opportunity to spend some time behind the camera a little while longer with a bride. Shateka was easy going and took my direction quite well. She brought two of her sisters along to assist that I'm thankful for as well. I think there presents also brought a calmness to the shoot. I have to give a shout out to the Historical Weeden House for allowing us to use their property to do the shoot. Since the wedding was yesterday Nov, 12 I'm elated to share a few of the images from the shoot. I want to thank Charles Rudder for assisting me on this day and wanted to share one of my favorite images not just shot by him, but of the entire session. Hope that everyone enjoys and congrats to Shateka and Jamie on their union. Wedding pics are coming, but for now

Korbi + Michael = Married

I think every young lady comes up dreaming of their wedding day. The dream to have her dad give her away. Her mom on the front pew in tears because that's her baby. In the mist of all the father wants a decent young man that he feels is worthy to have his daughter. I don't think Korbi's father had to worry about that. I became acquainted with this couple through Michael's sister Donnissia. When we met everything seem to go well and although I did have another obligation (Wedding) that day. They were willing to except anything I could give them. I appreciated that because I wanted to be there for them, but I knew my time would be limited. We were able to work out the specifics and when I say God took control of this day, he really took control. I went into this day knowing I had two weddings to cover and unsure how to cover both with the time given, but then God gave me Keith Pullum (Keith Pullum Photography), Susan Eason (SLE Photography and Design) and Charles Rudder to help get me through the day. This crew of photographer are awesome and I appreciate them for sacrificing a free day to help me. As I was making ready the slideshow and I look back on this day I had to give God all the glory. This song is what seemed to me to fit this occasion. We put so much trust in things that don't matter and then it or they seemed to come up short we're right back were we started. God never fails us and despite the unfaithfulness we so often display. He's right there leading us to another victory, NOBODY GREATER!!!!!! Thanks Michael and Korbi for your faith that allowed you to trust.

Mary + Curtis = Married

With each couple the journey to get to the appointed day seems like forever, but before you know it's here and gone. I think Mary and Curtis both will recall me saying enjoy the ride and don't rush it. I say that because when I got married that was one thing that I cherished, was the process. From picking out the venues, caterers, florist, and so on. This was the first thing you work together to accomplish. Once you reach that day and you go down that check list you of course have something that's driving you nuts, but when it's all said and done it worked out. I met with Curtis quite a few times and he was always taking it in stride. Cool brother that to me seemed about his business. Mary when I first met her was very stern and had the poker face on through out our meeting. This was a lady out to get what she wanted and at that bargaining table I felt like I was on the apprentice and I knew any second those words would come out of her mouth "Your Fired" lol. Once that was behind us she was all smiles and I saw some of the side that had Curtis ready to make her his wife. I'm happy for this couple and the support of the family and friends was shown in the huge smiles as the ceremony moved along. I must say out of the weddings I've done the Pastor did something that made him stand out. He did not only charge them responsible for one another, but he set the same precedence for family and friends. This was a beautiful ceremony and the words that were spoken were heartfelt. With that said here is a little slide show presentation I put together that will enlighten you on the beauty and pleasantness that flowed through that day. Dapphenye + James = Engaged

This was one of the more relaxed shoots I've had in a while. I must say that usually the women or always ready to take on the session, but most guys or just ready to get it over with lol. James was one of those you rarely come across. He was patient and willing to go the distance for his future wife. Although all of my clients have possessed that characteristic. It was a different feel coming from him. He was truly a mellow type individual. Starting out in downtown Huntsville we were able to take advantage of the beautiful landmarks and what added icing on the cake was running up on Cotton Row Restaurant. Dapphenye and James thought it would be really cool to do some shots in there. James was willing to order or do whatever it took to get the permission, but it came with no hesitation nor obligation. The manager was willing to allow the session to take place here. She also showed us around and as we took this tour we were taken to a loft upstairs that was really cool. Need less to say we basically shot the remainder of our session here. As the session ended I guess being a good host paid off because Dapphenye and James decided to have dinner in the establishment. I thank you two for your patients and allowing me to part of this journey. I've put together a slideshow of the session and hope you enjoy. Hope you enjoy the few I made apart of this presentation. Little Mrs. Morgan Bailey - Blessing

Great to be a part of something so precious. Wanted to share just a few pics of Morgan's christening or some may call blessing ceremony. Thanks to Rosie Spragins (God Mother) for contacting me to capture this special day. I must share that it had been some trying circumstances that almost took precedence. Morgan's older brother had some issues with his health in the prior weeks, but God granted direction and healing so this family had been through a lot leading up this day. I was glad to see him walk in with his parents. It was surely a lot to be over joyed about. Congrats to the parents Delano and Carleen Bailey and to the God Parents Darryl Owens and Rosie Spragins. Ashley + Byron = Married

I was excited when first confirmed that I would be this couples wedding photographer. After a great engagement session I had expectation of the wedding going just as well. Ashley and Byron together have such great chemistry and It's hard to not have good photos of the two. As I was going through the photos a song came across that I thought would really go well with the imagery. The song is a great gospel song, but I not only thought this in the way of God, but in what they meant to each other. I must say I had a great team of photographers to help me capture this beautiful day. Much appreciation goes to Susan Eason, Cindy Shaver, and Corey Jackson for providing magnificent support. Brittany & Levi (Committed)

I have to start off this post by thanking God for what he's doing in my life. I start it off this way because when I think of Brittany and how she appreciates my work. It allows me to think back at how I would look at other photographers and just be in aw at some of their photographs. Brittany shows me just that type of love and appreciation. This was a bitter sweet session for me. Brittany and Levi have their appointment with the preacher October 1st. Brittany is a co-worker of mine and had told me that she would love for me to be her and Levi's photographer for their wedding. The unfortunate thing was I was already booked for this day. I think disappointment set in on both of us when It seemed that neither could budge on the obligation we had for that day. To even consider moving it was a compliment, but it just couldn't be. Well, we got together and she still wanted pictures, so that's when she booked me to shoot their engagement session. I thought it out and had some locations in mind. The old saying when it rains it pours seemed to be creeping in when one of the locations wouldn't allow us to use their facilities. That wasn't going to stop us and I was determine to stay focus. We decided to meet out in New Market and I choose this because of the country feel and old buildings. After a few snaps there I wanted to allow Levi to serenade Brittany a little with his guitar. So we decided to move over to Sharon Johnson Park and let Levi do a little singing and he did give me the country version of a few R&B tunes lol. The interaction among them gave me some pretty good shots. As the day was coming to an end I had one more spot to go and I thought there would be a good spot to end our session. I was glad I made it because it gave us a couple great silhouettes and some other good stuff with the sun setting. I thank Brittany and Levi for being so patient and not allowing disappointment to ruin what was a awesome session. Wish you nothing but love and blessings in future days a head as husband and wife. Teka & Jamie (A Building Of Love)

I remember when I first saw Teka and Jamie together. It seemed to be easier to separate white out of milk than to see these two apart. That's the beauty of love when you find the right one you become inseparable. I'm jumping up and down to shoot this wedding and being a November wedding the temps should be perfect. Now about this engagement session...... After talking a bit about locations we decided to go to Hampton Cove and use the beautiful waterfall as our backdrop. I hadn't shot here in a while, so I was wondering what shots could we pull together. There's no doubt that this waterfall is beautiful, but my fun came when we found the tunnel where the golf carts pass through to get to the other side. If I had brought lighting I think we would of been there all night. I loved what we pulled off in here and we still had a changed to make. Once we finished in the tunnel we escaped out to notice that we had lost quite a bit of daylight. It seemed that a storm was approaching, so we decided to meet down at the foot of the mountain to change and set our next location. After thinking of something close to home in case the storm came in. We decided to shoot some in Starbucks. I just set back and allowed them to do what they do as a couple. They ordered and sat down for conversation and to enjoy their beverage. I snapped a few shots off and snapped a few shots off and snapped a few shots off. I looked and I thought we may have got enough to call this a wrap. As I went through my selection for this post I couldn't help but to smile at this opportunity. I had spoke to Teka and Jamie early on and thought they had went with another photographer and out of the blue Jamie contacted me to set up a consultation. The rest is history and what a privilege I have to share in this moment with these two wonderful people. Thanks guys and I can't say it enough and we're one step closer to that special day. Senior 2012 (Brooklyn Wherry)

Brooklyn enters this school year at Sparkman High as a senior. This young lady has always been well mannered and seems to be always smiling when I see her. Me and Brooklyn's mom are friends and she always thinks of Ron when she needs photographs. I remember when I first started taken the photography more serious. She asked me to come and photograph her Brooklyn at her homecoming game a few years back. Time truly waits on no one and as I look back on time I can't believe this young lady is a senior already. A very pretty young lady and I know your going to be a very successful as well. I would like you to enjoy this year. Happy Birthday Bush (Little Brother)

My little brother turns forty today. It brings me joy to see that not only did we both make it, but a lot of things are better than we could of imagined in this stage of life. I value my brother more than he may even know. I think he may look at me as his bossy brother, but I've always felt I had to protect him from the mistakes that I made coming up. The beautiful thing about our relationship is that we were raised up to be close. He was my best man when I got married and I was his. Not because we didn't won't our friends to be upset if we picked one over the other. He has truly been my best friend. As I think what this last week has bought. I ponder on my step father preparing to bury his older brother. I was told by my mom he felt that he was all alone in this world without him. I'm sensitive to what he's feeling. If I lost my brother I know It would be a void that is irreplaceable. Well to happier feelings, Bush is funny, out going, and a person that will give you his last if it would make it better for you. Our family got together and gave him a little surprise birthday party yesterday and I don't know if he was really surprised, but I'm glad he knows we care enough to make sure his birthday was special to us as well. Thanks to his wife, Lynn who altered her plans she had for him to accommodate our little surprise. His oldest son evidently pays attention to him. Bush loves cars and Javon couldn't get him a real one, but he made sure he got him his Mustang. To me that was one of the touching moments of yesterday. Happy Birthday little brother enjoy your day and make sure Lynn gives you the big piece of chicken today lol. Love you, God bless!!!!!

It's Finally Here (Heather & Steven)

This journey for me started around the end of summer of 2010. I remember receiving a friend request from a Heather Hipp. The last name sounded familiar, but where from? I looked her up at the time and saw that she was engaged, so I thought to myself maybe she's looking at some of my work. The next day was my company's monthly all hands meeting. After this meeting one of my co-workers brought this gorgeous lady my way :-). She introduced her and her name was Becky Hipp. You know something I thought,

before it could come out Becky was saying her daughter Heather had contacted me on facebook. Now it comes together, but who would of known with the circumstances that presented us we would be able to work together. With down payment already in place and obligation to another photographer, I keep hearing from Becky we still may use you. Well, I got the chance to do the engagement session and they braved the cold to get these wonderful pictures we created. Steven is Heathers knight in shining armor. He's a soft spoken young man that you know you are ok by his genuine smile. I would say something and I could count on Steven to give me a smile. The both of them are a great couple and it was joy to work with them. It didn't stop with them because as the process moved on I got to know Becky a little better. This is a women who truly loves her children and with a new grandbaby to spoil. She still shows much love and concern for both of her kids. Those with kids know what I'm talking about when it comes to grandparents and there grandbabies. Nevertheless the opportunity did arise for me to step in as their photographer. I thank Heather and Steven for believing in me and having the confidence in me to never question what I asked them to do. It was a long journey, but it's finally here and now gone, but what a wonderful team you guys make. The wedding was awesome and Becky and Jennifer did a magnificent job on decorating and putting everything together. Shaneva & Greg

This is one of those shoots that I felt like I was photographing friends. There was no rush we just went through the routine and talked and laughed and when it was all said and done we had spent nearly 2 hours. I meet Sheaneva in my sister n laws hair salon. We talked about her upcoming wedding and the need for a photographer. It wasn't 5 minutes in the conversation she hired me. She was confident that I could do what she needed although she will tell you she could care less about the picture aspect of it. After our sit down to finalize everything and schedule their photo shoot I then realize that I could bring in what they love to do most......... Get your minds out the gutter lol. I'm talking about riding their motorcycles. They both represent the double S motorcycle club (Street Sweepers). Greg riding a white Hybusa and Shaneva on her black and pink Ninja. This was a beautiful thing and these two having been knowing each other forever made for chemistry that was off the chain. They both had me laughing and through all the playing you could see the genuine love they have for each other. You can see in some of the photos where they were just tickled to death. One of the most enjoyable session I've had and I'm now looking forward to the wedding. The ceremony set for July 1st and fast approaching. Chaka & Kerry (Mind Made Up)

I've been knowing Chaka for about 5 years now and when she called to tell me she was getting married and wanted me to be her photographer I was more than happy to oblige. I called this one Mind Made Up because the funny thing is we spoke about a couple of dates before Chaka put her foot down and said this is it. I had never meet Kerry, so when we scheduled a consultation I was anxious to meet who had grabbed one of Huntsville's most eligible bachelorettes. My first perception of Kerry is he was a laid back guy, but you could tell he cared dearly for Chaka. We finally got together to do there engagement session and I wanted to do this one with a little more interaction between the two. We had access to a bus, so we did some shots there and tried to bring out the old school day crush type of vibe. Then we moved over to the Providence location and there I got to noticing that Kerry was really enjoying the kissing shots. Well, me being a man I had to take care of my boy lol. kissing, kissing, and kissing they did lol. We had a laugh about that. All and all we had a good shoot and look forward to some of the same this August. Congrats, and Chaka I know your thinking "Mr. Corn sure is fast" just trying to take care of one of my favorite people. Hope you enjoy, God Bless!!!

Me and Pastor Battles go way back. We're always happy to see one another when our paths cross. We had the chance to see each other more often when our daughters were all involved with the same upward basketball program. He mention that he was now the Pastor at Hurricane Chapel and would be needing me to help him with a couple of things. That opportunity came faster than I thought when he needed a family picture for a billboard. It was my pleasure to accommodate this request. The congregation has grown since under his leadership and I expect nothing but the best out of this man of God. I never take for granted my opportunity's and want to thank Pastor Battles and First Lady Battles and I can't forget about his adorable girls. Thank you and my God continue to bless you and the Hurricane Chapel family.

(Now I Can See) Peyton's New Glasses

After a weekend in Boston. I was ready to get home to see my two ladies, but what I really wanted to see was Peyton in her new glasses. Christal had sent me a photo of her in them through text, and when I saw it I just smiled. She was too adorable, but the thing about it all was we thought she was putting on the whole time. After she complain for a while her mom had decided to go ahead and schedule a appointment with the eye doctor. I think her mother and I really believed she was being dramatic about the eye hurting thing. Nevertheless, we knew a couple of her friends from school was now in glasses and I felt she just liked them and would put on this act to see if she could get her a pair. Well we were wrong and felt kinda bad that she really needed them. Once I got everything unpacked I had to snap a shot of her in them to blog, but it didn't stop with her she insisted that I take a shot of just the glasses. So, the blog pictures are what Pee wanted and what she wants she gets lol. One more thing.... My wife said when she first put them on she was stepping like she was stepping down and the step was a further drop than she thought. I imagine that in my head and feel out laughing because I know we have all done that. Step down and your leg keeps going because you thought the drop was not as far as you first calculated. Serving The City

This morning the Corn Family started our day off by serving our community. This effort was a collaboration of church's reaching out in one accord to give back through christian love and fellowship. My church served as the North Hub, we had quite a few things going on at the church as well as abroad. I had the pleasure of being one of the photographers to capture the event. My wife and Peyton went to the Downtown Rescue Mission to assist in distributing bus passes. I covered two events, one was the flashlight give away on the campus of Alabama A&M and the free lunch giveaway at Lakewood Baptist. My fellow brothers and sisters came out to serve in many capacity's. Some helped in construction, sewing, letter writing to the troops, planting flowers, free car wash, and so on. It felt good to see all of the smiling faces. It helps when you see that because it allows others to be receptive to whats going on. I leave you with this quote from Pastor Davis when asked what did Serving The City mean to him "When I think of serving the city as one, I think of two things, the first thing is "Service" and the second is "Unity". Jesus himself prayed that we may be one, and because we are His, we are servants as well. Therefore, for us to serve this city as one is the will of God." This wonderful couple was a joy to work with. Getting married April 1st this coming Friday I wanted to be sure to post this slideshow of their engagement session. With the help of Susan Eason (SLE Designz & Photography) I could do a little something different. I spoke with Alythia and she gave me the run down of their first meet and proposal. Which all happened at P.F. Chang out at Bridgestreet shopping center. For me it was just common sense to start there. I was really touched by Alythia's kind spirit, but after meeting Odea, This laid back brother that so happen to be a photographer which for me made him that much more interesting. I realize he seemed to carry that same persona. It was so crazy after just a short time it seemed I've known these two forever. After the session I believe we all sat and talked for a while about any and everything. Usually we're so tired your just trying to find something to eat or get home. She's finally here and adorable as she can be. Delano and Carleen Bailey welcomed there second addition to the family. Morgan due to come in March decided she was tired of being cramped up and wanted to see what this big old world was about. D'Lana Morgan Bailey had how this photo shoot would go herself. I come in with ideas of how we were going to capture the first glimpse of this young lady and she decided all of this twisting and turning is not necessary, I thought I heard her scream "Take the picture man" lol. Wedding Albums

The business of weddings have changed dramatically over the last few years. The way videographers and photographers capture the moment is a little different with the new dslr becoming a part of the video world and the advancement of technology has helped the photographer able to see in the dark lol. I think the one thing that I love are the wedding albums. Every now and then we get the request for the old school, but it's hard to beat the new albums. Rather you want Cover wrap or the Leather there all great albums. The lay flat pages and the thick hand crafted interior for long last viewing set these albums apart from what I was seeing 13 years ago. Here is one of the albums from a wedding we did last year and this is our entry level, but as you can tell its a well crafted book. If your budget doesn't allow you to purchase one right off. Be patient and save those coins because I guarantee this is a purchase that will last a life time. God Bless.......

A Walk In The Park

This shot was taken as me and the family enjoyed the outdoors the last weekend of February. This little city I call home has a lot to offer when you speak of peace. Yeah of course we have our crime just like any other city, but those from here know the stroll around Big Spring Park on a pleasant Sunday evening is as peaceful as it gets. Feeding the ducks has always been a peaceful past time, but I really enjoy walking to the East side of the park to be entertain by the drummers that gather here religiously on Sundays. If you haven't had a chance to visit this part of Huntsville on a Sunday evening and you're new to this area take the time to stroll through the park and meet some beautiful people. Oh yeah and don't forget your bread lol....... This is the only admission fee there is. The ducks and fish can go through a loaf in no time. May God Bless you and keep you, Peace......

A Family Affair (Melinda & Billy)

This was a opportunity to give back to someone who has been a help to me since the start of my photography business. Billy being a Videogapher has help me with different presentations and projects. That in itself was reason enough to get pump up to give it my all. The wedding was held at the beautiful Lake Guntersville State Lodge in Guntersville, Alabama. This was set to be a wonderful day for a wedding. As we gathered our gear and went into the establishment I was blown away with the interior of the place. We didn't get two steps in and we were pointing out certain areas we wanted to be sure to snap pictures of the couple. We had a different plan, but looking at time and what we wanted to accomplish. Neville (N'Sight Photography) took the bride and I had Billy and the guys. One thing that stood out about this particular wedding. Was the family that traveled to support this union of Melinda and Billy. Melinda's brother along with the other Minister performed the ceremony, There was a relative that was the coordinator, Melinda's twin sister spoke as they did the sand ceremony, and what really got me was Billy announced that his Best Man had traveled by car from California. If that's not love for your brother I don't know what is. Congrats to Melinda and Billy on this new chapter of your lives. I wish you many blessings in your future. Is Forty the new thirty? If you asked those who have reached it they'll probably say yeah lol. My dear friend Cassandra has become the newest member of the forty club. Her mom contacted me a few months back about this opportunity. We discussed her plans on giving her oldest daughter a fortieth birthday party. Knowing that one thing that she could not do is keep it a secret from her, so San had knowledge all about it. I say that because all that know San, know that she is one hell of a detective lol. Berta (San's mom) did an excellent job on putting it together. Once she told me she was cooking all the food. I was coming if for nothing but to eat :-) . This family is close and it showed as they all came through to help San celebrate. J's Special Occasion had a full house this Saturday night and I was blessed to be a part of this milestone in her life. This is one party that once everyone ate they kept someone on the dance floor as for myself I thoroughly enjoyed the young ones showing us how they do it now, but the d.j. also gave the old school a chance to do it ourselves. I met this couple a few weeks back after there coordinator ( Lashaundra Sullivan) had contacted me with interest to sat down for a consultation. After just a few minutes I could tell I was around good old Alabama folk. You know the kind as you ride those country roads and a hand is raised to just say hi. The thing about it is they didn't know you nor did you know them. I miss those days, but sating down with this couple brought those memories back. As you can tell the meeting went great and so did this engagement session. Since they booked for an October wedding I figured they would want a summer E session, but they were ready to get going. I didn't mind at all because I could tell that they were excited about the whole process. I spoke to Jerrica a few times during the week and wanted to do some scouting to determine our location. She was patient, but I could tell the excitement was building. Still not sure Friday evening, but knew the weather would play apart in my decision for that Saturday. Well Saturday is here and what a beautiful day. Cold but beautiful and we took full advantage of the sunshine. Thanks so much for choosing me to capture these special moments during this journey. First wedding of 2011 and it was a good start, If I must say so myself. This was another N'sight production. Headed by Neville Simpson with myself and Micheal Adderley pulling up the rear. This was my first meet with the bride and groom, although I work with the grooms father (Tony Steele). That's right Tony Steele photographer extraordinaire, so we've talked about family here and there and feel a little more acquainted to Anthony. We started off early shooting what is to unfold as the most beautiful day of this couples life. The couple never seemed to be rattled or nervous just seem to be taking it all in or could I say Taking It In Stride. We were wrapping up group shots so we could get in the sanctuary for the ceremony and I was thinking this may be a small wedding according to time and people that had made it. Then out of nowhere people started entering as though they were waiting outside to scare them as to think no one was coming and then say Surprise!!!! The ceremony was beautiful and as was the reception. Although some would consider what I do as work. I must say this wedding was just a reminder why I choose to be a wedding photographer. I Love It! There could be several reason for naming this post Saving The Best For Last. My reason is after hearing the speeches that the two gave during the reception it had me thinking. See God allows things in our lives for a reason. These things shape who we are and in a lot of our cases have help make dramatic changes that saved us from making terrible mistakes. Atra and Jojo as God was shaping you through your trials he was also preparing this union to happen. Marriage is to be the final stop in your search, but when you've allowed God to enter into that selection process. You become assured that whom you've choose to share your life with offers you something that makes them stand out beyond any other, so as God has prepared you two to meet he was helping you to notice the best in each other. We all have many flaws, but there is something in each of us that stands out to our spouses as the very best. I pray that you two have many years to grow old with each other and continue to be happy with the best that you each have to offer. I remember when I married my wife and we would attend functions at church. At one of these functions one of the Mothers of the church was teaching a class. It was quite a few young married couples in this class and I recall her saying she loves to see young married couples. I got what she meant once I met Heather and Steven. It's just a fit that looks so right. It's a good look when you can feel and see the love that a couple has for one another. We had tried to schedule this shoot the week before, but due to the cold weather we decided to postpone for the opportunity to shoot in warmer conditions lol. If anyone remembers the last two weeks you know it was still cold the following week. Although a little better it was still nippy. They didn't allow this to stop us this time and showed up ready and willing. No jackets, just ready to take on any direction I gave them. I thought we had a pretty good session to just shoot for 1 hour. Normally I block off at least 2 hours for engagements, but working with these two was just that easy. Second Time Around (The Baileys)

The joy that a child brings can't always be put into words. My daughter brings me endless smiles and laughter, so I can just imagine what Carleen and Delano are in store for. These two have already produce one bundle of joy, Mr. D. J. and with a baby sister on the way, fun fun fun fun... Carleen contacted me about what she wanted and was looking to maybe get together in a week or two. What I didn't know was that I had been knowing her husband for a long time. Me and Delano had been apart of the Magic dynasty for years. In case your wondering a basketball team that ran the NASA league for years lol. What a small world and to make it even more interesting as I was speaking to Carleen about the details of her shoot. My mom happen to be in the car and once realizing who she was told me we were kin. Hey cuz, where's that discount? Naw, she didn't say that, but that is the usual response lol. I already know Delano, but this was my first time meeting Carleen and DJ. What a beautiful family. I now see why Delano always smiles when you mention his family. Although our time was short I thought we were able to get some pretty good stuff. To be apart of this union was a joy. Upon arrival I made my way into the lodge and there I saw the cakes being given there final touches. I was amazed at the creation of these cakes, so on to find Neville (N'Sight). He had already started the details of Evangeline getting ready and I knew then this was going to be a day to remember. Looking at some of the things she had out for her wardrobe made me that more anxious to see the groom. Off I go to see whats going on with the guys and as I enter I see swords, daggers, and the attire that will bring all of this together. After getting some preliminary shots of the guys we headed up for Corey and Evangeline's first meet. Once seeing each other you could see the love and happiness that came across their faces. They really loved this special day that was just for them. With friends and family arriving in the same attire made this even that more special. There's nothing like second chances especially when its such an important time in your life. Well that's exactly what my sister n law Lynn had. Lynn had mention to me that she didn't get to do a bridal prior to marrying my younger brother. When she mention this to me light bulbs went off everywhere. I thought if she has the dress all she would need is a photographer and she could make that happen, so no sooner than that thought got out she said that she was getting her dress cleaned. Stop..... Hold up... I have an idea, when you get your dress out lets schedule a shoot so that you will have those pictures lol, and that's what we did. We were planning on doing both outside and inside shots, but it didn't necessarily go down that way. Lynn did a wonderful job and plan on getting her back in front of the camera to get those sexy inside shots that she wants. We had a ball during this shoot. Lynn and my brother Bush are two of a kind (Comedians), so we laughed and shot a while and then we laughed and shot a while and that's one reason we didn't get the inside stuff. Michelle, (Aunt) contacted me about photographing her nieces a few weeks back. I could tell that she's a proud aunt because she was taking the initiative to get this done. I decided we would go down to photographer heaven (Downtown Huntsville) lol. I've heard some people call it old faithful and so on, but back to the story, as I approached to meet them I see that several others had arrived with Michelle. The kids parents and grandmother had also came along. As I set up to start taking the first shots I notice Kayden had a Auburn outfit on. I smiled and thought this is alright. Michelle had mentioned that she was a Auburn fan and me also supporting the Tigers since the Bo Jackson days was glad to hear it. What I didn't know was how passionate of fans they were. Kayden and Kamryn did a wonderful job during there sessions. Kamryn the youngest of the sisters was as adorable as she could be and Kayden the big sister gave me plenty of energy and great smiles. As we got to the end of our session Auburn was down. Grandmother was sitting in the car listening to the game and all of a sudden I hear laughter and clapping. You know what the mean, Tigers are taking care of business. That put a seal on these two adorable ladies session and as I close I send a big War Eagle cry to the entire family. You probably remember these two young men from an earlier summer session. Well, here we go again. Calen and Caleb both keep me smiling because of the way they interact with one another. I called this one balancing act due to what commitments this young man has. Derrick is not only a Drum Major for Lee High School show band he plays on the soccer team as well. We had a good time taking the pictures once he loosened up. I did notice that he evidently loves both of these activities dearly. As he kicked the ball around for the soccer shots I could tell that he was getting into it more and more as he played around. He is full of energy and speaking to his aunt she thought he acted like me and my cousin from back in the day. Which meant he enjoyed laughing and making people laugh. As he gets closer to the real world, high school graduation, then college. My advice would be soak it all in because as you look back on life these will be some of the most memorable times of your life. This was one of those shoots I was really looking forward too. I was contacted by my wife's coworker and she was interested in scheduling a photo shoot for her granddaughter. Once we decided where the session would take place Nancy (Grandmother) mentioned to me she was concerned about Brindlee coming up to the camera after each shot to see her photos. I thought that was too funny, but I mentioned bringing something that would make her feel comfortable. Well Miss Brindlee brought a book and her elephant and me being a Auburn fan I was thinking a Tiger would be more comforting to me lol. Jada & Cody, these two love birds are set to be married June 12, 2010. I was really excited to do this engagement shoot. Me and Cody are co-workers so it was a treat when he asked us to do the engagement session. I have to tell you at first approach. Cody just told us that they were getting married at the beach. I thought great, so I told him to have Jada call Keith my shooting partner and go over the details with him. Homecoming 2009

I was quite delighted when the parents of both of these young ladies ask me to take a couple of pictures for their high school homecoming celebrations. Brooklyn wanted to go out to the Bridgestreet location for a few. She was truly a trooper with it being cold we tried to make it as quick and simple as possible. With her being a part of the homecoming court we had to let the coat go so she could show off the sash. I see her growing up to be just as smart and as beautiful as her mom... smile mom :) . Mrs. Breanna such a personality I enjoyed what we done at her home. This young lady is so much fun to be around and was not bashful at all. Look for her to break some hearts down the road. She has a combination of beauty and sense of humor that lures you into her world. Her mom a good friend of mine has really done a good job raising her and no doubt she will not disappoint you. To both I appreciate the opportunity I love you guys and continue to build your relationship with God and trust him and not what any young man may think he has to offer you. This weekend I had the opportunity to assist Neville Simpson of N'Sight Photography in a wedding in Montgomery, Alabama. It was one of the best times I've had sense joining the photography ranks. I normally wait till the photographer I assist blogs or view the pics, but brother Simpson gave me the go ahead. I'm pretty sure the best is yet to come because Neville is one of the most creative cats that I've been around and some of the stuff he did Saturday was just awesome so be sure to log on and stay tune for the Temisha and Cedric Wedding post. This was my first time meeting the couple and they were just great to work for. Most people are nervous when this day comes, but neither showed any signs of breaking down. Before closing I would like to also shout out Michael Adderley of Michael Adderley Photography who is most definitely going to make some noise in the business. Sense my daughter has started playing soccer I've truly found a interest in the sport. I went out this past Monday evening and took some shots of a team that is really fun to watch. This team is the Boys & Girls club U12 girls team and they are ranked first in Alabama. This is not a fly by night program and I believe so many assume that you can't get the training you need to compete at this level from here. This team and these coaches will prove you wrong my hat goes off to the U12 girls Hard Rollers soccer team.

Nikia and Derek's wedding was absolutely beautiful. I first come to know these two when they inquired my availability for this date. We did a conference call and after a little while I found that the grooms dad and my step dad had been good friends for sometime, and also both were members of the church that I attend. Well the unfortunate thing about it is, that I didn't get to do much with the couple because of the schedules at home. See they live out of state and it was just hard for them to make it before the wedding. I believe the shots turned out real well. I hate that I didn't get to do much creative stuff due to time and of course patience. I thank the brides mom Mrs. Morgan who was excellent to work with and the Wedding Coordinator Mrs. Smith. I know some of you wonder where does the Black & White Photography come from. Just to clear up the curiosity. My friend that I shoot with quite a bit, this has become our little thing although we both have our own photography businesses. Hope you enjoy them because see Mrs. Tonya was my little girls pre K teacher and I told her how her and the rest of the teachers ruin (spoiled) my child. So if these are not received well she may think this is get back for what they put me through lol....

Tonya & Herman

This was my first E Session. Tonya and Herman arrived a little uptight at first but as we went on began to loosen up. This really didn't bother me because I was just as uptight as they were. I wanted to catch them in a more natural setting rather than posing. This not only helped them, but allowed me to catch the intimate moments that i wanted to see between the two. I basically told them to conversate and allow themselves to be just that themselves. A kiss here and there wouldn't hurt either lol... I believe I caught them quite a bit forgetting that I was even there. I think we got some shots that were pretty good and It brought even more joy to me when they were pleased with the end result. This is one of my first family shoots. When I first started out I basically hit all my friends up to let them know my intentions with this photography vision I have. Well Joe told me that his wife and himself were really wanting to take some family pictures but didn't want same old same. He asked that I give him some time and he would most difinitely get back to me. That he did he mention to me that he had found the location that he wanted to do this session at. His neighbor had just had this waterfall install at his house and told Joe he had no problem with us using it. Its always good when your backdrop enhances what your trying to do and a good looking family doesn't hurt. Thanks Joe, Val, and Tre for allowing me to work with you guys but to satisfy Joe Gaines was reward enough.

This wedding was so beautiful. It was held in Huntsville Alabama at a place down on the Tennessee River called Dito Landing. We really were looking forward to shooting this one because of It being so beautiful. I really appreciate Susan that assited me in this wedding. The chance of rain that day tended to want to put a damper on things but the good lord allowed the sun to shine long enough to allow this beautiful couple to proceed with there vows of love to one another. This was a spare of the moment request for me. I guess you could say I was at the right place at the right time. I always appreciate those who put there trust in me when I may not be as experience as some of my photographer family. I appreiate Keith and Jenise for allowing me to grow at there expense. Love you guys....

Borden Wedding

My First, This is real special to me because it was my first wedding. They really made it easy for me with the setting and all. I shot this with a good friend that really gave me the encouragement to give it a shot. This wedding was at a beautiful place in Athens Alabama called Madeleines Place. We started shooting at 1:30 and didn't finish up till 7 so it was a long day. Thanks Bordens for such a wonderful time and hospitality.
